SHUFFLEBOARD!
SHUFFLE IS HERE!
Lansing Shuffle’s shuffleboard courts are officially open! Court reservations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are available for walk-ins.
Shuffleboard is a game for everyone. Old or young, short or tall, no matter your abilities, Shuffle is for all! Reminiscent of 1960’s cruise ships or vacations visiting snowbird grandparents, it’s the perfect game for getting together with the family, a few friends, or a double date. (Even your coworkers will like it.)
If you’ve been to Florida, you should know the basics. Compete in teams of two, trying to slide (send) a disc (biscuit) from your end of the court to the other using a stick (a tang).
Players alternate “sending” the biscuits with the aim of getting as many into the scoring zones as possible. Scores are counted only after all eight (four each) pucks have been shot and the puck must be wholly inside the scoring zone to register – those touching the line do not count! Expect many debates about if a biscuit is on the line.
The winner is the team with the most points at the end of eight frames. To achieve proper balance while shooting, it is recommended you hold a cocktail.
Sound confusing? Don’t worry, it’s not. And we’ll always be around to help.
Lansing’s first Shuffleboard Leagues are coming this fall!
RESERVING A COURT
While we welcome walk-ins, if you definitely want to shuffle, it’s best to reserve a court. Here are a few things to know about booking courts and playing at Lansing Shuffle:
There are five shuffleboard courts available to reserve (or walk in and book).
Each court is available to book for one hour at a time, we recommend two hours for the best experience.
The game is played between two teams of two, so we’d recommend a group of 4-8 per lane. For groups larger than eight, consider multiple lanes so everyone gets a chance to play. We’ll do our best to ensure your lanes are side-by-side.
There is a bar on the pavilion for your drinking pleasure. This is where you check in and get your equipment.
There are some couches at one end of the court for anyone in your group who is not playing, and stools on the other.
Someone from Lansing Shuffle will let you know when you’re nearing the end of your time and if there’s another group waiting to play.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO.
Here are some things you should know about shuffling at Lansing Shuffle.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. We recommend 30 to grab some food and drinks.
Head to the far north end of the building and check in at the Biscuit Bar.
Enjoy a cocktail or bite to eat.
Use this website, or one of the QR codes you’ll find around the playing area to read the rules and how to play.
A few minutes before your start time, head outside to the Biscuit Bar and collect your biscuits.
At your start time, a host will walk you to your court and make sure everything is set — and that the previous group has cleared out.
The host will also give you a warning when your time is almost up. Be courteous to people playing after you.
DO NOT WALK ON THE COURTS. We painted it on the floor to remind you. If your group repeatedly walks on the court, you may be asked to leave. Sorry, it’s a simple rule.
Be careful with the sticks. Try to avoid whacking people.
Have fun! It’s shuffleboard!
